Summer Looks: Polka Dots and White Boots

It’s finally summer! I’m happy for the summer clothes, but not for the summer heat. Luckily, the only thing that took my mind off of it was the fact that now I get to find some new pieces to add to my wardrobe. After a long day of work I headed to the Nordstorm Rack that was a few blocks down. Polka dots have been my “thing” for quite some time now, so it was no surprise that when I saw this navy and white polka dot ruffled shirt that I NEEDED it.

Sleek Black Dress with Classic Deep Cut

You all have seen my brunch look from my birthday, but I also wanted to share my night time look as well! With turning 25 being such a huge milestone for me, I wanted to make sure the look I put together was elegant, while showing maturity. Black was the statement color of the weekend – so with my actual birthday look I decided to rock black from head-to-toe.

Pale Pink Zip Top with Denim Patched Jeans

Hi guys! The hot weather is upon us, and light summer colors are a must. For me, I like to mix my warm colors with a little bit of edge. Since I normally a fall/winter type of girl, it helps to incorporate different trends within my look to ease my comfort. I decided to take on the city with this casual, simple but edgy look. I find that a mix of trends that you normally wouldn’t purchase can be just the thing you need to add something new to your wardrobe.

Oversized Denim Jacket + High Knee Suede Boots

After the crazy snow storm in NY, the weather broke and we got a little bit of sunlight to peek through! With it being NYFW, there’s a lot of excitement in the city this weekend and it truly motivates me to go harder in my career. Honestly, one of my dreams is to be a part of NYFW, and I’m not letting go of that goal until it happens! But for now, I have to continue to push and have faith. So I went out to shoot in East Village with my roomie Mya, and we found so much amazing wall art that it was almost impossible to choose!

Oversized Grey Sweater & Over The Knee Boots

This past weekend has been above and beyond…nothing short of amazing — Mya and I ventured out and really tapped into our creative energies. When it freezing outside it can be easy to be lazy and unproductive, but we fought against it and persevered! With work and everything else going on, it’s been hard for me to keep on track with my blog schedule, but I’m back and I can’t wait to end this year with a bang with you guys!

Fall With A Hint Of Peach

This past weekend was nothing short of amazing. I got to finally be a tourist in my new city, and explore every artsy part of New York I could find. I realized a lot this weekend…one of the things being that home isn’t necessarily a place. Home can be a person…home can be whatever makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Home is what you make it to be. This relates to so many aspects of life. Too often we get caught up in trying to label everything, but very seldom we reevaluate how it makes us feel.

It’s a lot like the seasons. Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate other things/pieces that make you feel good. On my trip to the Bronx to visit the Botanical Garden, I tapped into my balance: what makes me feel and how it makes me feel.

Androgynously Yours [facing your fears]

This weekend I really put my fears aside, and ventured out into the city alone. Now, I love doing things alone. I’m the type of person who enjoys spending time by myself and being able to work on/do things that I love. But I will say that this was my first weekend going to an event in the city by myself without my roommate(s). I survived, and I realized that there are some things you’re going to have to do alone. You shouldn’t be scared to take the risk. It’s all about character building and getting to know yourself.

Well, I found my way to the Aaliyah Jay Meet and Greet in Harlem, NY! She held a back-to-school event for all of her supporters at the The Vanity Box Boutique.
