We’re half-way through the week, and you’re feeling a little bummed and stressed out, right? Sometimes the workload builds up so quickly that it doesn’t even click to us that we’re super stressed and anxious. I know I’m a victim of this from time to time, and I really try to research diverse ways to handle a stressful week instead of keeping in all inside. Build up stress is just not healthy, so when you can it’s important to release any bad vibes that you have! Keep reading for my top 5 ways on how you can de-stress and live a healthier lifestyle.
Go for a walk during your lunch break, or better yet actually take your lunch break!
Too many times we ignore taking our lunch break because we are swamped in work. That one-hour break is yours for a reason – use it! Go for a walk or sit in your favorite café to chat with your mom. Do something that helps to relax and take your mind off everything work-related.
Take deep breaths
I didn’t realize how important this was until my boyfriend bought me an Apple Watch for my birthday. During the day, my watch will remind me of when I need to just BREATHE. I think it senses my heartrate and knows when I just need to chill and re-focus my energy. This is so helpful because it works to clear my mind.
Try to think of the positives more so than the negatives
I think one of the things that get us workup all of the time is focusing too much on things that we need to do, rather than celebrating ourselves on the things we’ve accomplished! Give yourself a break. Yes, you might very well how 100 things on your to-do list, but what about the 500 things you tackled earlier that week? Look girl, no one is going to praise you for all of your demanding work but YOU. Take advantage of it.
Purchase a cute plant
Having a plant on my desk just fills me up inside. Having something to brighten up your work area is certainly needed if you want to survive stressful days.
Crank up the tunes in your headphones
There’s nothing wrong with putting on your headphones and listening to your favorite tunes to help your day go by faster. I found that when I’m listening to a podcast or a recent music album, it helps to shift my mind off of my stressful tasks and focus on the lyrics or message.
