Hi guys! It’s officially December, and we have ONE month left in 2017. Crazy right? Everything feels so surreal. This time around I was 6 months into my first year in NYC, working at a completely different job in Brooklyn and I had just met my now boyfriend. Wow, time really does fly! With us only have 4 weeks left of the year, I’ve been doing some reflecting on things that I want to accomplish to end the year strong and really maximize the days that I have left.
One way, of course, being to get a jump start on my 2018 goals! The best way to get started on this is to see what you accomplished this year, and what you still need to complete that you can finalize in the new year. Plan you work and work your plan girl, but try not to over-do it. When your plans/goals exceed the actual time you have to work on them, then you might have a problem. Being realistic is always key.
Another way is to begin to cut off the things you don’t want to bring with you into the new year. This means friends, negative energy, terrible habits – leave it all behind. This is great to do now because it takes 30 days to form a habit. If you start cutting off any dead weight that is bringing you down before entering into the new year, you will feel 100% better, and honestly like a new woman! I remember this time last year I officially let go of a non-mutual relationship. I was giving more than I was receiving, which was a tough pill to swallow – but ridding that relationship before going into the new year made me feel so much better and helped me grow as a person. For the new year, I definitely want to continue to get rid of relationships that are forcing me to work harder than I should.
The last thing I would say is important is enhancement. What can you do to enhance your personal and career goals for 2018? For personal goals, this might mean finally signing up for that gym membership that you’ve been avoiding all year. For career goals, this might mean finally going for the career that you are passionate about or moving to that city/state that you’ve been dreaming about. I would say my personal goal for 2018 is SAVING. Now that I’m in my mid-20’s it’s important for me to not only invest my funds into the right areas, but to also save them as well. For career goals, my plan is to elevate and advance. I know that God has a plan for me, but faith without works is dead. I’m pushing to exceeded in all areas next year!
How do you plan to end your 2017? How will you MAXIMIZE it?
