Home Diaries 02: Organizing is Key

So, I’m back at it again with another Home Diaries post because I obviously live in Target. There’s probably nothing that can stop me from taking a trip to Target just to see what I can find, but luckily it’s Labor Day weekend so I stumbled upon amazing deals. There was method to my madness! I can finally say that I’m about 90% done decorating my room (finally). The items I purchased from Target this weekend were well needed to help me organize my life a little bit better. If you know me, then you know how much I value my organization skills.

High Standards

I would have to say that I did a pretty good job at making sure everything in my space was consistent and color coordinated. All of my furniture in my room is white (a blessing and a curse). A blessing, because it makes my room airy and spacious looking. A curse, because it can easily get dirty (you should see my makeup drawer). But like everything, if you want it you’ll find a way to make it work!

My shoe shelves and my 6-Cube Organizer make my daily life so much easier! It just feels good to have a spot where everything goes, and to not stress about space. I use my shoe shelves for my favorite pair of gym shoes and heels. All my other shoes I store away in my closet. My 6-Cube Organizer was mainly purchased because I was getting tired of placing my hair products on my windowsill. So, top shelve is for products and the last two shelves are for miscellaneous items that can’t fit in my drawers!

On The Go

Face it — sometimes we need cute things to get us excited about planning and organizing our thoughts! I purchased this office accessory kit that came with paper clips, push pins and binder clips. I got this for my work space at my job and my desk space in my room. It just turns out that it matches the colors of my room perfectly!

I also purchased sticky notes because, well…sticky notes! I needed them to keep my notebooks and paperwork together and organized. I’m a person who lives by color coordinating, so this helps me a lot.

I also recently treated myself to this rose gold notebook from Urban Outfitters. I use it as a Goals book to help me continue in the right direction. Sometimes the only extra push you need is to see it written down.

I’ve been waiting a bulletin board for FIVE-EVER! Target had one on sale for $10, so I happily placed it in my cart and kept it moving. It just helps to look up from your deep sleep and read motivational reminders, and tasks that need to get done on your to-do list. Having it hang above my desk space is very beneficial for me because I’m always at my desk working on something.
